Polygon secured the fifth spot among weekly blockchain growers on Alchemy, posting a 3.6% increase after adding 50 billion usage units. These recent metrics arrive on the heels of a previous daily chart where Polygon captured second place following a 7.5% bump. Currently, Base paces the weekly growth standings, while BNB Chain claims the top daily spot.
Polygon Adds 50 Billion Usage Units Over the Week
Data from Alchemy’s latest leaderboards shows that Polygon achieved the fifth-highest weekly surge in usage units among tracked networks, sitting behind Base, BNB Chain, Optimism, and Arbitrum. Polygon expanded its weekly total by 50 billion units, narrowly trailing Arbitrum’s 58-billion-unit increase.
Base captured the lead by adding 426 billion extra usage units, marking a 24% growth rate. BNB Chain came next with an 87 billion unit bump, up 4.4%. Optimism secured third place by generating 79 billion additional units—a 21% increase—while Arbitrum posted a 4.9% growth rate.
These weekly figures measure gains across networks starting from different initial activity levels. For example, Optimism achieved a higher percentage increase than BNB Chain, even though BNB Chain added a greater total number of usage units. In the same way, Polygon’s fifth-place standing corresponds to the volume of units it contributed to the overall growth table.
Roughly 15 hours prior, Polygon sat in second place on the daily leaderboard after pulling in 15 billion usage units. That 7.5% expansion trailed Robinhood, which tacked on 22 billion units at a 4.3% growth rate. Solana placed third with a rounded increase of 15 billion units and a 7.9% gain.

BNB Chain and Solana Lead Latest Daily Growth
The newest daily metrics position BNB Chain at the forefront with 12 billion extra usage units and a 3.9% increase. Solana trails in second, contributing roughly 12 billion units alongside a 5.6% bump. Polygon does not appear in the current daily top five.
Arc captured third place after registering 9.4 billion additional usage units, representing a 17% rise. Avalanche takes the next spot with 4.4 billion new units and 9% growth, while ApeChain rounds out the daily top five with four billion extra units and a 35% surge.
While ApeChain registered the steepest percentage gain among the top five daily leaders, BNB Chain placed first based on raw usage unit volume. The rankings therefore differentiate between overall activity volume and percentage shifts.
Looking at the monthly timeframe, Robinhood leads all networks with 7.6 trillion extra usage units and a 78% growth rate. Base follows with 1.5 trillion units, up 23%. Solana, Arc, and Ethereum round out the monthly top five, adding 1.2 trillion, 1.2 trillion, and 882 billion units respectively.
Alchemy Tracks Computing Activity Across Blockchains
Alchemy explained that usage units quantify the computing work handled through its infrastructure, encompassing operations like reading blockchain data and submitting transactions. Because distinct tasks demand varying degrees of processing power, usage units go beyond a simple count of raw transactions or requests.
Decentralized applications generate activity by pulling blockchain records or checking balances. Such requests drive up computing consumption even when they fail to trigger a new transaction. Consequently, Polygon’s weekly gains denote the volume of extra computing units logged via Alchemy.
These growth metrics track platform activity across daily, weekly, and monthly intervals. They do not account for Polygon token purchases, exchange trading volumes, or the creation of new wallet addresses. Polygon’s most recent standing places it fifth for weekly growth following its earlier second-place daily performance.
