Google is introducing its screenless Fitbit Air fitness tracker to India, stepping into a market segment currently dominated by wearables like Whoop. The tracker concentrates entirely on health, sleep, and fitness monitoring, omitting any display or notification features. It launches in India on October 2, priced at Rs. 13,999, and will be sold via the Google Store as well as retail partners.
Fitbit Air Gets Screenless Design
In contrast to standard smartwatches, the Fitbit Air features no screen, application support, or notifications. Rather, it gathers health and fitness metrics continuously, transmitting the data to a paired smartphone so users can review their statistics via the Google Health app.
According to Google, this wearable is engineered for round-the-clock wear and is lighter than numerous conventional smartwatches. It monitors heart rate, heart rhythm, blood oxygen (SpO2), resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), and sleep stages. Furthermore, the absence of a screen spares users from constant alerts and glowing displays during sleep, exercise, or work hours.
Seven-Day Battery and Health Tracking
The Fitbit Air features automatic activity detection for standard workouts, while users can also manually log or initiate exercise sessions through the Google Health app.
Google promises a battery longevity of up to seven days per charge. Additionally, a rapid five-minute charge delivers as much as a full day of power.
The wearable supports heart rate, SpO2, HRV, and sleep tracking. Compatibility extends to Android devices running version 11 or newer, alongside iPhones operating on iOS 16.4 or later.
Google Health Coach Integration
The Fitbit Air integrates with Google’s Health Coach feature, which analyzes physical activity and health metrics to deliver customized recommendations and insights. Through the Google Health app, users can access guided workout routines and review activity summaries.
Certain capabilities within Health Coach necessitate a paid Google Health Premium subscription. To offset this, Google includes a complimentary three-month trial of Google Health Premium with every Fitbit Air purchase in India.

Fitbit Air Price and Availability in India
Retailing at Rs. 13,999, the Fitbit Air becomes available for purchase starting October 2. Color choices include Obsidian, Berry, Lavender, and Fog.
Because it lacks a display, the Fitbit Air does not support apps, text messages, or alerts. Instead, Google is marketing the device around passive wellness tracking, fitness monitoring, sleep analysis, and extended battery endurance.
