At the Vivo NEXT 2026 event in India, Vivo presented its Vision Discovery Edition mixed reality headset. The hardware merges virtual and augmented reality capabilities, incorporating both eye tracking and gesture-based controls. It operates on OriginOS Vision, the proprietary operating system crafted specifically by Vivo for mixed reality environments.
While retail availability and pricing for the Indian market remain unannounced, Vivo has confirmed that consumers can test the headset at 15 dedicated experience zones spread across 10 cities throughout the country.
Vivo Vision Discovery Edition Brings 8K Displays
Weighing in at 398 grams, the headset dimensions are 83mm in height and 40mm in thickness. For a more comfortable fit, Vivo supplies a padded headband alongside a selection of interchangeable light-seal and foam-padding variants.
For visuals, the Vision Discovery Edition employs dual binocular Micro-OLED screens delivering 8K resolution, allocating a 3,840×3,552-pixel display to each eye. These panels achieve 94% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut and maintain a Delta E value of less than 2.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform drives the hardware. According to Vivo, this processor yields up to 2.5 times greater GPU performance and eight times greater AI performance relative to the preceding generation.
Additionally, the unit features ultra-low-latency passthrough. The integrated camera and depth-sensing architecture facilitate eye tracking accurate to 1.5 degrees, while hand and finger tracking utilizes 26 degrees of freedom alongside a 175-degree vertical tracking range.

120-Foot Cinema Mode Highlighted
Among the primary entertainment features spotlighted by Vivo is the Vision Cinema Mode, which simulates the viewing experience of a massive 120-foot cinema screen.
Beyond cinematic viewing, the headset accommodates live sports, esports, and gaming. Rather than depending exclusively on physical controllers, users navigate virtual objects using hand movements and pinch gestures.
Following its initial debut in China, the device’s Indian presentation lets consumers try out the mixed reality hardware firsthand at designated Vivo stores. However, Vivo has not yet revealed release dates or pricing details for Indian buyers.
