Mojang Studios is set to release Minecraft Dungeons II, the follow-up to its popular action-adventure dungeon crawler, on September 29, 2026. The game brings an all-new narrative, fresh environments, upgraded combat systems, and robust multiplayer options to multiple major gaming platforms.
Expanding upon the foundation of the 2020 original, the sequel keeps the signature block-inspired aesthetic while adding distinct settings, adversaries, and gear. Adventurers can journey solo or band together with companions to confront a fresh danger spanning two distinct realms.
Minecraft Dungeons II: Release Date and Platforms
Mojang has locked in September 29 as the worldwide launch date for Minecraft Dungeons II. Players will be able to pick up the title on Windows PC, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
Additionally, Microsoft announced that the game will be accessible via Xbox Game Pass on day one. Offering flexibility for solo users and groups alike, the title supports single-player as well as online and local cooperative play for up to four participants, depending on the chosen platform.
For players in India, the Standard Edition carries a price tag of Rs. 2,399 on the Xbox Store, whereas the Deluxe Edition—bundled with extra digital extras—is priced at Rs. 3,999.
Pre-orders are currently live, offering incentives such as two hero skins, a Twisted cape, and a Twisted chicken pet for qualifying purchasers. Note that costs and edition lineups could differ depending on the specific retailer and platform.
New Sift Dimension and Gameplay Changes
Among the standout features of Minecraft Dungeons II is the Sift, a brand-new dimension bringing in never-before-seen biomes, foes, and systemic mechanics.
Mojang characterizes this realm as vibrant and distinct, featuring new biomes like Meadows and Carapace. Along the way, users will face unfamiliar monsters, perilous blocks, and shifting weather factors that influence both travel and battle. Following its debut in the sequel, the Sift will make its way to the Java and Bedrock editions of standard Minecraft in 2027.
