Meta has welcomed Indian-origin technology leader Chirantan “CJ” Desai as its Chief Enterprise Platform Officer, positioning him at the helm of the company’s latest venture into enterprise artificial intelligence. Operating under the direct supervision of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Desai will direct the newly launched Meta Enterprise Platform.
This strategic hire follows Desai’s departure from MongoDB, where he had served as president and chief executive officer after stepping into the role in November 2025. Following his exit, MongoDB named former CEO Dev Ittycheria as its interim leader while a nationwide search for a permanent successor is underway.
Meta Targets Enterprise AI Market
The establishment of the Meta Enterprise Platform signals a fresh commercial strategy for the tech giant, shifting its focus toward delivering AI solutions for business clients rather than relying solely on consumer offerings. Through this hub, organizations and developers will gain direct access to Meta’s underlying AI models, infrastructure, and autonomous agents.
The initial product lineup features Muse, Meta Business Agent, the Muse API, and Muse Code. At present, Meta has kept details regarding pricing structures and the comprehensive release schedule under wraps.
Meta stated, “The new enterprise business will combine its AI models and agents with its large-scale infrastructure and experience working with businesses.” Additionally, the corporation emphasized that data privacy and security will serve as core pillars for all enterprise solutions.
CJ Desai Brings Enterprise Software Experience
Desai enters the role armed with more than 30 years of industry expertise spanning cloud computing, infrastructure, enterprise software, cybersecurity, and product engineering.
His journey in the tech sector kicked off at Oracle in 1995, after which he held leadership roles at EMC, Symantec, and Pivotal. He transitioned to ServiceNow in 2016, eventually ascending to president and chief operating officer. By 2024, he joined Cloudflare as president of product and engineering prior to his brief tenure leading MongoDB in 2025.
Meta’s corporate expansion arrives as the tech industry races to monetize generative AI and specialized AI agents. For Meta, the new enterprise division establishes a formal pathway to commercialize its technology for business clients alongside its core advertising and consumer ecosystems. Desai will manage these operations while answering directly to Zuckerberg.
