Samsung has officially revealed the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+, marking the arrival of its newest flagship tablets tailored for individuals seeking expansive screens and portable, laptop-level productivity. These fresh additions integrate Samsung’s Galaxy AI capabilities alongside a 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, enhanced screens, and extended battery endurance.
Supplied with an S Pen out of the box, the new lineup is marketed by Samsung toward creative endeavors, education, and professional work. Selected markets will see the Galaxy Tab S12 lineup hit shelves on October 7, available in Silver and Grey colorways.
Bigger Displays and Faster Hardware
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is built with a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen, whereas the Tab S12+ features a 12.6-inch screen. Both displays offer a 120Hz refresh rate alongside a peak brightness reaching 1,600 nits.
At a thickness of only 5.1mm, the Ultra variant stands as the slimmest Galaxy Tab Samsung has ever produced. The manufacturer highlights that the updated processor yields up to a 61% boost in NPU capability, a 19% increase in CPU speed, and a 17% enhancement in GPU performance relative to the preceding Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
Furthermore, Samsung has incorporated a newly configured 3D vapor chamber to better manage thermal output during intensive tasks. Both devices feature an IP68 certification protecting against dust and water immersion.
Galaxy AI Becomes Part of the Workflow
Operating on Android 17 with One UI 9, the tablets incorporate Samsung’s newest suite of AI functionalities. Through Multi Window, users can split their display into a trio of panels, enabling simultaneous tasks like taking notes, streaming a lecture, and running an AI helper.
The bundled S Pen facilitates sketching, hand-written notes, and document marking, while the separately available Pro Keyboard from Samsung features a specialized Galaxy AI Key for quick access to AI software.
Buyers of the new series will also receive a six-month trial for Google AI Pro. Users can leverage Gemini Notebook to consolidate files, recordings, pictures, and notes, alongside Samsung Browser, which condenses content gathered across several active browser tabs.

Built for Long Work Sessions
Power longevity is another key emphasis for these devices. Samsung estimates that the Tab S12 Ultra provides up to 23 hours of video playback, while the Tab S12+ reaches up to 21 hours based on the company’s testing metrics. Both models accommodate 45W fast charging.
Creatives will also find preloaded software like Adobe Photoshop included alongside professional app incentives. Samsung notes that the tablet version of Photoshop will remain exclusive to the Galaxy Store for an initial period of at least six months, with S12 owners able to claim a four-month premium subscription.
Through the Tab S12 collection, Samsung continues to steer its high-end tablet category toward a comprehensive productivity experience, marrying expansive workspaces with desktop-style peripherals, stylus functionality, and intelligent AI functions.
