Chennai, October 08, 2026: Ubifly Technologies Private Limited, operating as The ePlane Company, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Noida International Airport. Beyond physical construction, the partnership outlines a comprehensive framework to jointly design the regulatory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operational ecosystem, and Vertiport Management Systems necessary to launch ePlane’s flagship e200X aircraft. The collaboration lays the groundwork for airport-to-airport transit, urban commutes, and emergency air ambulance services powered by the e200X across the area.
This infrastructure alliance supports key technical progress following the public introduction of the full-scale e200X PT-01 prototype. With ground testing currently underway, the MoU ensures that the physical aircraft manufacturing is matched by simultaneous progress in airspace integration and ground operations.
Infrastructure and Regulatory Collaboration
To support these operations, YIAPL will provide space on airport grounds for proof-of-concept tests, charging stations, and vertiports, while updating its airport Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to accommodate eVTOL flights.
At the same time, The ePlane Company will work to obtain the required approvals from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), alongside carrying out flight testing and prototyping of the e200X aircraft. Both organizations will collaborate with state governments, Air Traffic Control (ATC), and regulators to set up safety protocols, AI-driven fleet scheduling connected with smart city platforms, and Vertiport Management Systems.
Executive Quotes
“Deploying electric air taxis requires more than just building the aircraft; it demands the parallel development of ground infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and operational procedures,” stated Dr. Satyanarayanan Chakravarthy, Founder and Director of Ubifly Technologies (The ePlane Company). “This MoU with Noida International Airport allows us to systematically validate our operational models using drone trials before transitioning to piloted e200X flights. It is a pragmatic, step-by-step approach to ensuring that when our aircraft are certified, the airport ecosystem is fully equipped to deliver on our core promise: bypassing urban gridlock and compressing hours of road travel into minutes of safe, emission-free transit for both passengers and critical medical care.”
Daniel Bircher, Chairman, Noida International Airport shared that “Noida International Airport’s long-term vision is closely linked with bringing innovative, future-ready infrastructure to the region. Integrating Advanced Air Mobility into our airport framework is an important part of our commitment to seamless, multi-modal connectivity. We are pleased to collaborate with The ePlane Company on developing the ground infrastructure and operational SOPs required to deliver safe, zero-emission air transit and vital emergency services to Delhi-NCR”.
About The ePlane Company
Launched in 2019 and incubated at the Incubation Cell of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), The ePlane Company (Ubifly Technologies Pvt. Ltd.) functions as a leading Indian deep-tech aerospace manufacturer driving the worldwide shift toward Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). Based at the 163-acre IIT Madras Discovery Campus located in Thaiyur, Chennai, the firm runs the country’s first and only dedicated 60,000+ square foot integrated electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) testing, prototyping, and manufacturing facility.
The company stands as the initial private aerospace firm in India granted a formal Design Organisation Approval (DOA) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for electric aircraft, with its flagship e200X model serving as the first eVTOL admitted into the official Type Certification pipeline of the DGCA. Backed by more than 10,000 kilometers of cumulative physical flight testing across its e50 and ATVA technology demonstrators, ePlane focuses on high-efficiency, zero-emission aviation designs created specifically for dense urban corridors.
Using its patented international “Synergistic Lift” design, ePlane engineers its aircraft to fit an ultra-compact 8×11 meter footprint, eliminating the need for dedicated vertiports and enabling immediate rooftop scalability through standard municipal helipads. Supported by investors such as Speciale Invest, Antares Ventures, and Naval Ravikant, and guided by a board of international aviation veterans, The ePlane Company is commercializing a modular airframe designed to disrupt three major global multi-billion-dollar verticals: high-frequency passenger Air Taxis, middle-mile Urban Cargo networks, and critical Air Ambulances.
