HCLTech and Anthropic have partnered to drive enterprise adoption of Agentic AI. Announced on October 12, 2026, the agreement aims to make Agentic AI more accessible for everyday business productivity. To support this initiative, HCLTech plans to establish a dedicated business unit featuring a center of excellence focused on developing Agentic AI solutions with an emphasis on safety and security.
Teams will leverage Anthropic’s technologies—such as Claude, Cowork, and Claude Code—to engineer solutions tailored to various industries. The objective is to help organizations transition from minor AI experiments to deploying these systems for substantive, real-world tasks.
Additionally, the collaboration integrates Claude and Claude Code into the AIForce platform to enhance software engineering workflows, covering IT support, code remediation, and digital employee services. Commenting on the alliance, Daniela Amodei, co-founder and president of Anthropic, stated, “AI can only be as useful as it is trustworthy, and we built Claude to give companies the confidence to bring it into their most sensitive and valuable work.” He further added, “Our partnership with Anthropic further strengthens our capabilities to achieve the same.”
Unlike tools that simply answer questions, AI agents can write code, analyze data, and execute operations across business software. HCLTech and Anthropic intend to design solutions for targeted corporate requirements, with their respective teams assisting companies in integrating these applications into daily operations.

Why Security and Human Checks Matter
Granting AI agents access to internal systems, financial records, or customer data presents significant risks for large enterprises, as a single error could expose millions of user records to hackers. Consequently, security protocols are essential to restrict the operational scope and data access of any AI agent.
Human oversight is equally necessary to prevent complications, while clear guidelines can establish operational boundaries for agents. Routine audits also enable teams to identify and resolve mistakes early before they escalate into major issues. Ultimately, while the HCLTech-Anthropic agreement seeks to expand the use of AI agents in corporate environments, broader adoption will hinge entirely on trust.
