During an ordinary week in Dubai, Ebru Ertürk divides her hours between two distinct professions. The first is Elexacar, a rent-a-car agency she established and manages. The second is BizBize Talk, a podcast where she interviews guests about how their lives unfolded.
While one venture focuses on customer service, fleets, and bookings, the other centers on personal memories and critical life choices. Yet, in Ertürk’s view, both stem from the same foundation.
Running the business herself
As an entrepreneur in the UAE, Elexacar serves as Ertürk’s inaugural business venture. Rather than supervising from afar, she remains actively involved in day-to-day operations—a hands-on philosophy developed over many years.
Having entered the workforce at the age of 16, Ertürk has maintained continuous employment ever since. Her background includes a civil engineering degree, a master’s in architecture, and approximately a decade spent working for a government institution in Istanbul. Through these experiences, she mastered project management and meticulous attention to detail. Just as construction demands careful planning and composure under pressure, the car rental industry requires the exact same skill set.
The London years
The interpersonal abilities that make her a skilled interviewer were developed later, primarily during her time in London.
Relocating there in 2019, Ertürk initially planned to pursue an MBA and start a construction company via the Ankara Agreement. When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted those plans, she had to rebuild her life completely. She took jobs as a waitress and in accounting before transitioning into digital marketing. Eventually, she rose to the role of digital marketing manager, forging professional relationships with editors, publications, and websites.
Working in hospitality and marketing share a common thread: both cultivate the ability to read people. You quickly discern when someone is open to conversation or prefers solitude, and how to phrase questions to elicit genuine responses. Ertürk honed these instincts in London, and they are clearly reflected in every episode of BizBize Talk.
Along the way, she realized she genuinely enjoyed listening to personal narratives. Hearing strangers share their journeys frequently provided her with new perspectives on her own life, ultimately planting the seed for the podcast.
From London to Dubai
Following five years in the United Kingdom, Ertürk earned indefinite leave to remain and subsequently acquired British citizenship. Although she considered returning to Turkey briefly, Dubai ultimately drew her attention. As a city populated by individuals who relocated from elsewhere for various reasons, it aligned well with her objectives.

The podcast features guests from diverse occupations and backgrounds. Maintaining a welcoming and natural atmosphere, Ertürk avoids chasing sensational headlines. Instead, she seeks to understand what transpired, the emotions involved, and the lessons her guests extracted from their experiences.
