Developer IO Interactive is gearing up to release free downloadable content for 007 First Light later this week. While specific details remain under wraps, the studio has confirmed that new content will drop on October 1.
The upcoming release was revealed via the official 007 First Light social media channels. Accompanied by a short clip of a vehicle racing down a picturesque highway, the announcement confirmed that the add-on will be completely free for players before promising a full reveal on October 1.
007 First Light DLC Arrives October 1
At present, the teaser leaves it unclear whether the update will add a brand-new mission, a vehicle, a TacSim challenge, cosmetic items, or other gameplay additions. IO Interactive is anticipated to unveil these specifics alongside the launch.
The brief footage has already sparked rumors regarding vehicle-based gameplay. Observers point out that IO Interactive’s previously outlined Year One roadmap features upcoming vehicle challenges for players.
Another theory points to the anticipated Bawma story mission. IO Interactive previously stated that this mission will take Bond back to a black-market hub in Mauritania, highlighting off-road driving encounters. Even so, the studio has not verified whether this teased DLC actually is the Bawma mission.
More Content Planned for Bond’s First Year
This October update builds upon the continuous post-launch support for 007 First Light. The title’s Year One roadmap outlines frequent Tactical Simulation drops—such as new firearms, gadget enhancements, challenges, and cosmetic items—alongside fresh scenarios in settings like Kensington, Slovakia, Mauritania, and Vietnam.
Additionally, IO Interactive intends to introduce the G2 Glasses gadget, Photo Mode, and New Game+, though the developer warns that these Year One schedules remain subject to adjustments or postponements. 007 First Light originally debuted on May 27, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The mystery DLC lands on October 1, at which point IO Interactive is set to disclose the specifics of Bond’s upcoming assignment.
