Following restrictions on real-money gaming, India’s gaming sector is exploring fresh avenues for expansion. With the global gaming market experiencing a surge, companies are increasingly shifting their focus toward esports and competitive gaming.
Let’s Game Now has made a significant move in this arena by securing Rs. 30 crore in a funding round spearheaded by industrialist Anand Mahindra, Bestvantage Investments, and an unclosed UAE-based family office. The firm also enjoys support from prominent Bollywood figures Ranveer Singh and Abhishek Bachchan, enhancing its ties to the entertainment industry.
Reports indicate that the freshly secured capital will be channeled into building the Indian Super Gaming League (ISGL), an upcoming franchise-based gaming tournament. At present, Let’s Game Now operates in over 18 countries, engaging 400 colleges and approximately 700,000 students.
Addressing the investment, Let’s Game Now CEO Santanu Basu stated, “This round marks an important new chapter for Let’s Game Now. The backing of strategic investors and leaders from business and entertainment strengthens our vision to build the Indian Super Gaming League into a major gaming and entertainment property.”
The ISGL serves as a central pillar in Let’s Game Now’s expansion strategy. The enterprise aims to structure esports in a manner resembling traditional sports, featuring regular competitive seasons that allow supporters to more easily track their preferred participants.

Why Gaming Companies are Turning to Long-Term Leagues
While standalone tournaments draw substantial audiences, viewer interest tends to be fleeting. Regular leagues, conversely, provide an opportunity to cultivate a dedicated supporter base. Furthermore, team ownership models can attract fresh investors to the esports ecosystem, with seasonal matches giving audiences a continuous reason to stay engaged.
This structure is poised to create new revenue streams for Indian gamers. Industry players can secure long-term brand collaborations, monetize media rights, and establish partnerships centered around specific teams and athletes. Nonetheless, maintaining a league requires consistent viewership and robust sponsorship. Let’s Game Now must prove its gaming community can sustain a full season of matches.
Establishing a sustainable league requires more than just financial backing; the ISGL will need to draw in teams, maintain audience interest, and secure sponsors willing to commit across multiple seasons.
