New Delhi, 10 October 2026: The fintech sector has returned to the cricket pitch with the launch of the second installment of the Fintech Premier League (FPL), taking place in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Co-hosted by the Startup Policy Forum (SPF) and Signzy, this year’s tournament features 38 squads from 34 entities, upwards of 570 participants, and a total of 82 matches scheduled across the three urban centers.
Structured as an 8-a-side tennis-ball box-cricket competition, the Fintech Premier League (FPL) unites financial institutions, fintech companies, and technology providers through organized sports. Building on the reception of its inaugural run, the league has now grown to encompass three primary fintech centers.
The lineup of contestants spans a diverse array of the financial technology and services network. Banking institutions include Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, HSBC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Yes Bank, while the credit and lending sector is represented by Axis Finance, Flexiloans, Kissht, Indifi, Lendingplate and Jio Credit. The payments and technological infrastructure segments feature PayU, NPCI, Benow and Mosambee, accompanied by Signzy, Equifax, Protean, Xflow, Stable Money, Zerodha and ZET from the digital services, wealth, identity, and financial infrastructure domains.
Shweta Rajpal Kohli, President and CEO, Startup Policy Forum, noted, “Fintech is a closely connected industry, but most interactions between companies happen around business, policy and industry conversations. The Fintech Premier League (FPL) creates a different setting for people across the ecosystem to meet and compete. The response to the first season demonstrated the value of creating such a space for the community, and the second edition builds on that momentum with participation from companies across the fintech ecosystem.”
Arpit Ratan, Co-founder and Business Head, Signzy, added, “The idea behind the Fintech Premier League was always simple: bring people from the fintech ecosystem together and let cricket do the rest. The first season showed us that there was genuine interest in the format, and Season 2 is significantly larger, with 38 teams across three cities. It is good to see people who usually meet across boardrooms and business meetings now competing against each other on the cricket field.”
The competition unfolds in three distinct phases: the Regional League Phase, Regional Knockout Phase and National Championship. Regional fixtures take place within the North, West, and South zones, with victorious squads advancing to the National Championship scheduled for Mumbai on 31 October 2026.
