Deepinder Goyal has disclosed that the most challenging aspect of developing Temple was not the wearable hardware itself, but rather its primary fastening mechanism: the small adhesive Grip that secures the device to the skin. Developed by Eternals, Temple is one of Goyal’s most talked-about devices and is designed to monitor cerebral blood flow. Goyal notes that its medical-grade Grip remains secure during activities such as running, jumping, saunas, swimming, and showering. Furthermore, users receive an unlimited supply of Grips with the device to accommodate face washing, skincare routines, and makeup application.
Highlighting the reliability of the fastener, Goyal explained, “Yes, with single-use Grips (aka tapes). Price includes unlimited supply of Grips. Not weird; you don’t even feel you are wearing Temple. Inventing the right Grips was as hard as making the device. We have now gotten them right for 99% of our audience.”
Nevertheless, the Zomato founder clarified that the product should not be worn while scuba diving. In such scenarios, the restriction stems from the device rather than the Grip. Goyal noted regarding this limitation, “You can remove Temple, but not reuse a Grip. Always use a fresh Grip.”
Grips cannot be reapplied once detached. Goyal pointed out that while some wearers might leave a single Grip on for roughly seven days—matching the approximate battery life—he recommends swapping it out every two or three days. At the same time, he added, “Maybe our medical grade grips are so good, and they keep your skin so nice and supple that it never itches.”
According to the Eternal Vice-Chairman, pre-orders for the device will launch soon, though a specific date has not yet been announced. Furthermore, the colors include True Gold, Rose Gold, Black Mirror, Real Jade, Deep Blue, and Purple Funk.

Temple is Designed For Daily Use
Temple is not intended to be worn merely for brief testing periods. The goal is to integrate the device seamlessly into daily routines. Goyal mentioned that it typically takes users about five minutes to adjust to wearing it.
Consequently, the Grip functions as more than just a method for attaching Temple to the skin. It ultimately dictates the long-term comfort and practicality of the wearable. With pre-orders on the horizon, this tiny adhesive component may turn out to be one of Temple’s most critical elements.
