The Rs. 30,200 crore Jio Platforms initial public offering is positioned to become India’s largest public issue, drawing favorable evaluations from various market analysts and brokerages. Running from Wednesday, October 21, to Friday, October 23, the share offering is backed by analysts pointing to anticipated telecom tariff hikes, ongoing digital service expansion, and consistent earnings growth. The price band for the offering is established at Rs. 1,065 to Rs. 1,119 per share.
According to analysts’ outlook, potential increases in tariffs could drive higher subscriber revenue. The company intends to issue 27 crore new equity shares, making the entire offering a fresh issue. Trading of these shares on the BSE and NSE is scheduled to commence on October 28.
Earnings Growth Shapes Analysts’ Valuation Outlook
Deven Choksey, managing director of DR Choksey FinServ, characterized the public issue as a rare opportunity driven by the scale and growth trajectory of Jio Platforms. Highlighting approximately Rs 76,000 crore in EBITDA from the previous year alongside annual earnings growth ranging between 18% and 20%, Choksey noted that finding this level of earnings scale and visibility together is uncommon.
Choksey anticipates expansion vectors across home broadband, enterprise services, mobile connectivity, and international markets. He additionally underscored a four-to-five-year earnings visibility window as a core element of his evaluation.
Based on his projections, Choksey estimates that EBITDA could climb to Rs. 1.5 lakh crore within four to four-and-a-half years if the business maintains a growth pace close to 20%.
He regards the estimated market capitalization of roughly Rs. 10 lakh crore as reasonably attractive, suggesting the company could ultimately reach a valuation of Rs. 12 lakh crore. In his view, the chosen offer price preserves value for investors and may mitigate potential downside risks following the stock’s debut.
Factoring in his assumptions for growth, Choksey also envisions the potential for investors to double their returns across a span of four to five years, contingent upon the company meeting his earnings expansion targets.

Brokerages Weigh Business Growth Against IPO Risks
Religare Broking granted the public issue a subscribe-for-long-term rating, pointing to revenue growth, strengthening profits, and the underlying digital infrastructure of the enterprise. The brokerage noted that increases in average revenue per user (ARPU) point to enhanced subscriber monetization, linking margin expansion to better operating efficiency and stronger per-user revenue.
Additionally, Religare anticipates that a growing customer base, higher data usage, and reliable client retention will bolster top-line growth, while new opportunities in 5G and digital services furnish additional paths for scaling.
On the risk front, Religare pointed to vulnerabilities tied to spectrum approvals and license dependencies. It also highlighted potential delays in approvals, shifts in technology, and rising competition.
Within the unlisted grey market, the premium hit Rs. 250 to Rs. 255 per share on Monday, shifting upward from a Rs. 235 to Rs. 240 range over the weekend. Measured against the upper price band, Monday’s premium signaled an estimated listing gain between 22% and 23%.
While this premium serves as an informal market indicator rather than a guarantee of the final listing price, it provides a comparative reference point alongside the official terms of the issue and the long-term growth forecasts issued by brokerages.
Conclusion
The Rs. 30,200 crore IPO from Jio Platforms has drawn favorable responses from brokerages, fueled by solid financial tracking, digital scale, and earnings growth. Although a grey market premium of Rs. 250-255 hints at strong initial listing gains, competitive and regulatory risks persist. The offering launches on October 21, with market trading scheduled to begin on October 28.
