Baking your own waffles from scratch is easy and fun but takes a lot of time and the quality of your kitchen tools. But the convenience of instant waffles is worth it because they are, in effect, healthy, and are almost exactly like regular waffles. I think they taste better too.
I was introduced to waffles more or less by accident when I was in high school. I had a few waffle mixes at a party that were way too sweet for me. I was so obsessed with waffles that when I became a vegetarian, I bought my own waffle maker. I tried to make waffles and got frustrated because the mix had a lot of butter. So I took to buying the recipe at our local supermarket.
The waffle mix is made from flour, sugar, water, and a lot of eggs. The mix makes a lot of yolks and the texture is a bit like a muffin.
This mix is my favorite. And the best part is that it only lasts for about five days once it’s made.
And that’s when I get to eat my waffles.

But I have to say that I’m still using the same recipe that I tried in my first cookbook to make waffles. I have to admit that they are delicious, and I think it has to do with the fact that I was trying to make a recipe that I had used before for years. Well I guess it’s true.
