Quant’s QNT token changed hands at USD 285.91, marking a 1.39% drop over a 24-hour window, following a massive weekly surge exceeding 300%. This downward correction occurred while the token’s daily relative strength index stayed above 81, keeping it firmly in overbought conditions. Data from CoinMarketCap indicates that QNT fluctuated between USD 276.84 and USD 322.57 during the 24 hours leading up to October 1.
QNT Price Retreats After Weekly Rally
The daily drop for QNT outpaced Bitcoin’s minor 0.12% decrease, while the broader cryptocurrency market capitalization slipped by 0.26%. Additionally, Quant’s trading volume decreased by 6.26% across the 24-hour period. Combined, these shifts in price and volume point to a cooling off in trading activity right after the token’s explosive weekly climb.
This recent retracement came on the heels of a rally that pushed QNT far past its previous long-term trading band. Yet, price action alone cannot definitively prove whether investors unloaded their holdings simply to lock in gains. The current market metrics point to a downturn following steep climbs without pointing to a single catalyst behind the sell-off.
At the same time, the daily RSI registered at 81.06 in the latest price metrics and hit 81.43 according to Binance chart evaluations. Both figures sat well above the standard overbought marker of 70. The RSI tracks the velocity and magnitude of recent price shifts. While high values can stick around during robust rallies, they do not guarantee an impending trend reversal.
Short-Term Indicators Show Slower Momentum
On the daily Binance chart, QNT maintained a position above its 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day exponential moving averages, which were positioned at USD 155.61, USD 106.71, and USD 79.04, respectively. The wide gap between the current price and these averages highlighted the magnitude of the recent surge, with the upper Bollinger Band hovering near USD 302.12.
Conversely, the hourly chart presented a different scenario. The hourly RSI moderated to 55, and the hourly moving average convergence divergence metric dropped under its signal line. Together, these signals pointed to diminishing momentum on a micro scale, even as macro daily metrics continued to display the effects of the prior rally.
Relevant chart zones featured support markers at USD 284.54 and USD 279.75, alongside resistance boundaries near USD 298.67 and USD 303.19. Alternative Fibonacci assessments highlighted levels at USD 286.64, USD 243.12, and USD 207.94. Such mathematical models offer reference points rather than absolute turning points. Additional overhead resistance spans the USD 330 – USD 343 bracket up to a recent peak close to USD 373.
The contrast between daily and hourly metrics is also significant when analyzing the data. Because individual indicators measure distinct timeframes, robust daily figures can easily coincide with decelerating hourly momentum. Neither data set on its own guarantees the trajectory of QNT’s next price move.
Clearing House Partnership Provides Business Context
The preceding rally arrived in the wake of an official corporate announcement involving Quant. On September 24, The Clearing House announced its decision to enlist the firm as a technology provider for its On-Chain Money Initiative. The upcoming network aims to enable financial institutions to clear and settle transactions utilizing digital representations of bank deposits.
Quant’s role involves linking this new network to existing payment frameworks like RTP and CHIPS. The Clearing House expects member institutions to gain access by the first half of 2027. Sal Karakaplan, the organization’s chief strategy officer, noted, “Building interbank infrastructure for tokenized deposits requires proven technology that can scale.”
While this disclosure validates Quant’s technological involvement in the upcoming financial network, it does not clarify how the partnership will influence future demand for QNT, nor does it account for the token’s most recent daily dip. At present, available market data simply highlights a massive weekly gain followed by diminished volume and softer short-term momentum.
