A recent report indicates that Samsung could stick with the same 12-megapixel front-facing camera for the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ anticipated next year. These devices are slated for an early 2027 release in India and international markets. Should this report prove accurate, the base models will maintain the current selfie hardware, whereas higher-end versions are tipped to get an improvement.
As noted by Dutch media outlet GalaxyClub, both base variants are likely to keep the front sensor found in previous Galaxy S lineups. Samsung has relied on a 12-megapixel front camera since debuting the Galaxy S23 family in February 2023. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are rumored to adopt a newer 16-megapixel front-facing camera.
Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra May Get 16MP Cameras
This rumored 16-megapixel sensor would deliver a higher resolution compared to the 12-megapixel shooter anticipated for the standard phones. Because Samsung has not verified these camera details, the alleged disparities are still unconfirmed. It appears the manufacturer might keep the most significant front camera enhancements exclusive to its top-tier devices.
Additionally, the report suggests that the Galaxy S27 and S27+ might continue using a triple rear camera arrangement. This potential setup consists of a 50-megapixel main shooter, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto unit. Samsung might refresh the main camera while leaving the other two lenses untouched.
Galaxy S27 Series Could Expand to Four Models
The upcoming flagship family might consist of four distinct handsets: the Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro, and S27 Ultra. Introducing a rumored Pro model would broaden the selection past the three variants typically seen in current generations. That said, Samsung has not yet officially validated this product lineup or release schedule.
Early pricing speculation indicates that the Galaxy S27 might launch at a starting price of USD 899 in the U.S. The Galaxy S27+ could debut at USD 1,099, though costs will likely fluctuate across global regions. These preliminary figures are unverified, and official pricing and specifications have yet to be revealed by Samsung.
The details surrounding the cameras imply that Samsung might set its upcoming phones apart through targeted hardware changes. Consumers will have to wait for official announcements to verify the definitive camera capabilities.
