The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.
This is an important point. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions are not our own. They are the way we have been programmed for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. In other words, they are the same as any other person or animal. They only get stronger and more powerful with time, as our experiences, knowledge, and memories continue to develop and become stronger.
If you want to understand human psychology, you need to stop thinking of it as “our” (how we are) and “other” (what they are). It is always in “our” control. We are not other people because we are not other people.
The human brain is incredibly complex. It is not only our brains that make us who we are, but also the way we interact with others. Our bodies have evolved to serve us, and we are still evolving to serve our souls. We are in a constant state of evolution, which in turn means that we are in a constant state of change.
We are all a little bit strange. We are all the products of this incredible evolutionary process. It is constantly happening. Our minds, bodies, and souls are constantly evolving and adapting to our surroundings, which means that we adapt to and become our surroundings.
Or as the saying goes, “You can’t change what you can’t see.
But that’s not all. You can see into the future. You can see yourself in the future. You are all part of an ever-evolving, ever-changing organism called us.
I’m certainly not saying that our lives are boring and unexciting. But I am saying that if we want to make progress, we have to stop being so afraid of change. Because the more we focus on the future, the more we focus on the past. We focus on our past and we miss the future.
What we fail to realize is that our society is constantly changing. The only way to truly master this complex world is to focus on what we are. We are all part of an ever-evolving, ever-changing organism called us.
