LinkedIn is introducing fresh features designed to help professionals monetize their expertise. These additions aim to support users engaged in side hustles, vibe-coding initiatives, and freelance ventures that fall outside their primary job descriptions. Among the primary highlights is Advice Sessions, a tool enabling qualified users to provide paid one-on-one video consultations directly through the platform.
The functionality streamlines appointment scheduling, payment processing, and video hosting. Initially, the rollout targets select Business Premium subscribers in the United States, and LinkedIn has stated it will not collect a commission on earnings. Additionally, the platform is launching a creator dashboard and preparing to broaden video ad revenue opportunities for qualifying creators.
To simplify professional networking, LinkedIn is running tests on a new Network feed displaying updates from direct connections and followed accounts. Another addition is a customizable digital business card that can be saved directly to a mobile device’s digital wallet. According to LinkedIn, these updates are tailored to assist entrepreneurs and individuals balancing multiple roles, noting a 70% increase in users adding the title “founder” to their profiles over the last year.
Commenting on the swift adoption of artificial intelligence across the platform, LinkedIn Chief Product Officer Hari Srinivasan stated, “You can build all this incredible stuff with AI, but I don’t know if it’s necessarily made it easier to build a business.”

Digital Business Cards Could Make Networking Easier
Members can populate a LinkedIn digital card with their contact information, customize its appearance, and store it in a mobile wallet. This tool is designed to simplify information sharing and follow-ups during conferences, career fairs, corporate meetings, and networking gatherings. Global deployment of this feature is scheduled over the next few months.
These developments indicate that LinkedIn is expanding its scope beyond traditional digital networking by providing members with practical tools to monetize their talents, forge connections, and advance their careers.
