Console players might soon need to clear significant room on their hard drives. Ahead of the anticipated November 19 release, rumored file size details for Grand Theft Auto 6 on the PlayStation 5 have emerged. Reports indicate that the Standard edition of the title could demand 210 GB of storage on the PS5. Meanwhile, the footprint for the Deluxe edition remains unconfirmed, and Xbox Series X/S users are still awaiting details regarding their version’s dimensions.
Should the Standard edition indeed require 210 GB on Sony’s console, users on competing hardware should anticipate a comparable footprint. That said, Rockstar Games has not yet provided official verification of these figures. According to reports, pre-loading may become available starting November 12, offering users a window to complete the massive download prior to launch day.

Managing a 210GB file could prove difficult for users who keep multiple titles installed simultaneously. Because the base PS5 provides approximately 667GB of accessible storage, GTA 6 alone would consume close to a third of that capacity. Consequently, individuals may have to uninstall older software to clear enough room. To put the scale into perspective, GTA 6 is reportedly three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Still, consumers should hold off on immediately purchasing additional hardware. Because Rockstar has not yet released the definitive measurements, waiting for official confirmation will help users determine if purchasing an expansion is a worthwhile investment.

Xbox Series S Players Could Face Storage Trouble Too
Such a massive file could present a severe hurdle for the Xbox Series S due to its restricted drive capacity. The 512GB version features roughly 364GB of usable space, while the 1TB edition provides about 800GB. Requiring 210GB means the game would occupy a staggering portion of the Series S internal drive. Although Rockstar has not verified the Xbox specifications—and file sizes can fluctuate slightly across different platforms—the variation is expected to be minor.
As the launch date draws near, checking available disk space is a wise precaution. Users can delete unused titles or begin researching hardware expansions if necessary. Ultimately, it remains advisable to wait for Rockstar to verify the final data requirements before spending money on upgrades.
