God of War Laufey pre-orders are about to open. The PlayStation blog recently announced that the game will arrive on PlayStation 5 consoles on February 16, 2027. However, the pre-orders will start on September 29 at 10 am local time.
The official PlayStation announcement stated that two versions of the game will be available for pre-order: Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition. Pre-order buyers will receive the Last Wish Armor Set, Phranque Golden Leaves appearance and an in-game resource pack as pre-order bonuses. Along wth that, the Digital Deluxe Edition adds the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Blade, Bow Scales, Catalyst, resource pack, digital artbook and soundtrack.
A blog post shared more details about Faye’s Serpent Bow, a weapon that can be used for both close and long-range attacks. Players will also get full aim, giving them more control over their shots. They can also target parts of an enemy to slow them down or stop an attack. Notably, Faye can charge up to five arrows and fire them together. A half-aim mode gives her a faster hip-fire option when enemies are nearby.
The different editions give players more than one way to buy the game. The standard version covers the main experience, while the Digital Deluxe Edition adds extra gear and digital items. For a big AAA release, early sales also matter. Pre-order bonuses can bring in early buyers, while a higher-priced edition gives publishers another way to earn more from fans who want extra content.

Faye Gets Her Own Combat Style
The Serpent Bow could make Faye’s fights feel different from the usual God of War combat. Precision shots can help players pick weak spots. The five-arrow volley gives them a strong option after setting up an enemy. Hip-fire should be useful when enemies get too close.
When players master these tricks, the result could be a combat system where players switch between careful shots and quick attacks instead of using the same move again and again. God of War Laufey is still months away, but Santa Monica Studio is already showing how Faye will stand apart in battle.
