For the past few years, I have had to learn not to eat food that is cutesy. I have learned that I have to decide if the food, or the packaging, or the presentation is cute, before I eat it. If it isn’t cute, I have to cut it out of my diet. This goes for everything, big and small.
One of the main reasons I decided to start this blog is so that I could share my diet and exercise techniques to create a healthier lifestyle. I am soooo tired of trying to eat healthy that I am going to find the best ways to do so in the form of recipes, recipes, and recipes. This is going to be a fun journey.
I have some friends who are extremely health conscious and they don’t believe in eating processed food. They believe that the best way to eat is to cook. To them, a recipe is just a recipe and they will eat it. They would tell you that they had never tried a recipe before and they probably would have given a recipe a pretty fair chance, but for me, I can’t do that with food.
I know it is a bit of a stretch, but I have been making a lot of the same recipes for years. The one that is the most successful is this Chocolate Mint Muffin recipe that has been my standby for years. The next best recipe is a recipe for a recipe. I would start with something simple like a green salad and then move on to a homemade soup. Then I would make a simple pasta dish and then a roasted chicken.
My favorite way to eat is a simple, healthy meal. Something light, filling, and flavorful. Something that is easy to make and the least time consuming. Something I can just pop in the oven and eat while sitting at the table. I remember when I was a kid and my mom would cook a simple meal for us and I would eat it all. I was like…
This is me. Cooking is one of my favorite past times. It’s also one of the times that I have the most trouble making dinner. My mother would call me to dinner and set the table and I would be like “MOM! I’M EATING!” I would make the dinner. Then I would have a very hard time finishing it. I ended up eating it.
I’m going to go ahead and assume that you’re not just eating my words. I’m going to go with the term “food cute” and say that you’re eating the same thing that I used to eat.
It’s hard to say what’s worse: the fact that I’m not actually eating the food I prepared, or the fact that I’ve literally never baked a cake before. Either way, this is something I’m very proud of, and it could be that a lot of you are as well.
It is pretty obvious that the recipe for this cake calls for frosting. But, that is not the only way to describe it. The recipe calls for a cake which looks like a giant pink balloon with a wreath of chocolate strawberries (or something like that) on top. Its actually quite delicious, and the strawberries are very nice, but I bet you can make up your own version with a different kind of frosting.
I have to admit that I am not entirely sure what it is I’m making, or why it looks good. I am sure its not just because of the frosting, and I can see why it would not be a good idea to just use frosting as the base. I’m going to have to give it a try because I am dying to try it out. I think I need to put some buttercream on it.
