Diagnosing is a topic worth looking into. It is something that is very much under the surface in our culture, but we are all well aware of the effects that it can have on our lives.
Diagnosing is one of the least talked about but most important topics that all of us should be talking about. Everyone has a unique set of symptoms, but people who live with a disability are more likely to have a diagnosis.
Many people who have a disability don’t even consider that there are any other possible causes for their symptoms. People who have a disability face a double whammy: having no control of their symptoms, and having a limited ability to help others with their symptoms. People with a disability have a double bind: they can’t get to the doctor, and they have no control over their symptoms. In a way, they are the minority.
With a disability you have a much larger pool of potential causes to look at. You can see a lot of things on the outside that are really nothing to do with your disability, and in some cases you can see a lot of things on the inside that are really nothing to do with your disability.
I’m going to be totally honest and say that I think people with disabilities are the minority. The vast majority of people with disabilities have a much easier time reaching out to help people in their lives. I’ve met people who don’t feel as though they have a disability that impacts them at all, and I’ve met people that feel like they’re “normal” while still having problems.
I know people who have a disability that hinders them from doing the basic things that most people with disabilities can do. Like, say if you are wheelchair bound, you can only stand for a limited amount of time while you walk. That doesn’t mean you can’t use your hands. You just can’t use your hands for anything that requires lifting your body up. That is a disability.
I’ve always wondered what it would take for people with disabilities to feel normal. Sure they can’t do the things I’ve always done, but what if they could? I think that would be a really cool thing for them to feel normal.
Well lets be real, it wouldnt be too much to ask for disabled people to suddenly start feeling like they can do anything they want. It would be just an easy way to make people feel normal.
Well, I think you would be surprised. I mean, people with disabilities are not that rare. In fact, you would probably be surprised at how many people with disabilities feel like they are normal. Some of those might be people with physical disabilities. Some of them might be people with mental disabilities. Some of them might be people with cognitive disabilities. It’s a shame that the world is so hostile to people with disabilities because they are so beautiful.
Some people with disabilities are more likely to be diagnosed than other people. The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated that in 2001, about 1.3 million Americans had a disability, and that number is expected to increase to 1.7 million by 2012. That’s a lot of disabled people out there. To be honest, I don’t know what percentage of people with disabilities are diagnosed. I do know that one of our goals is to see that number drop significantly.
