Today, Aembit, the identity control plane for AI agents, unveiled new functionality designed to secure the access of personal agents within corporate environments. The feature is available immediately to current customers at no extra cost.
As workplace adoption of personal agents—such as OpenAI Dots and Meta Muse—increases, these tools frequently access cloud applications, email, code repositories, internal systems, and other corporate resources via employee credentials and delegated permissions. This creates potential risks regarding sensitive data exposure, unauthorized modifications, and actions that are difficult to separate from a human employee’s normal workflow. Furthermore, such credentials may reside directly within the personal agent platform, remaining outside the direct oversight of corporate security teams.
To mitigate these risks, Aembit addresses this problem by utilizing a hybrid identity structure that merges the unique identity of the agent with that of the user it stands in for. Businesses can assess both identities during access attempts, distribute temporary credentials for authorized operations, maintain centralized logs of agent behavior, and revoke an agent’s access independently of the human employee’s account.
“Personal AI agents are going to find their way into the enterprise for the same reason personal devices did before them: People use whatever helps them get work done,” noted David Goldschlag, CEO and co-founder of Aembit. “The good news is that this is exactly the kind of access problem Aembit was built to solve. Give the agent its own identity, control what it can reach, and shut it off without taking the employee offline.”
Enterprise capabilities introduced with Aembit include:
-
Give each agent a distinct identity. Personal agents can be recognized and controlled separately while retaining the context of the employee they are acting for.
-
Apply access policy at runtime. Aembit evaluates the agent, the user behind it, the requested resource, and applicable conditions before access is granted.
-
Replace standing credentials with short-lived access. Approved requests receive scoped credentials that expire, reducing reliance on reusable secrets held by the agent.
-
Extend controls across enterprise services. The same identity and policy model can govern access to SaaS applications, developer platforms, and internally built services.
-
Centralize audit records. Security teams can trace which agent requested access, who it represented, what resource it reached, and which policy authorized the request.
-
Revoke an agent independently. Security teams can disable an individual agent’s access without resetting the employee’s credentials or interrupting the employee’s work.
Additionally, Aembit provides organizations with versatile deployment options for policy enforcement. The system operates seamlessly via the Aembit MCP Identity Gateway or alongside alternative gateways and enforcement mechanisms already established within the corporate infrastructure. While identity, authorization rules, and auditing remain centralized within Aembit, every access attempt is assessed dynamically to grant solely the permissions required for that specific interaction.
Alongside formal support for Meta Muse, Aembit highlighted support for safeguarding connections used by various AI agents and platforms, including Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and custom workflows powered by large language models (LLMs).
