I am sure you have heard this number somewhere, but I’ve seen it more than a few times. The number 27 is the number of times you can take a quick nap on the couch at the end of a long day, a time when your mind isn’t racing with what has to be done next. This number is just one of those numbers that is often overused and overvalued. But it’s not.
I love that you mention the couch. If you need to get a nap, you can just get a good one and then fall asleep right on the couch. The couch is where I think most of us fall asleep at night. In fact I usually do this on the couch while watching a video game (or a movie).
I think the number is usually overvalued because of the fact that there are so many things to do with your time. I think a lot of us get into a habit of looking at the number of things we have to do in a day, but I think this is a very lazy way of thinking. If you want to get a good nap, you can just take a nap on the couch and then fall asleep right there.
I know this is getting off topic, but when you’re trying to wake up and get ready for the day, you don’t do it on the couch, you do it on the bed. If you have a laptop, you can use it to do research, or get an article written about a certain subject, or create a slideshow, or whatever you want to do. Just stop what you’re doing and make yourself a cup of coffee and get ready to go.

This is actually pretty common. The reason why is because it is easy to do and it has become a habit. It is very easy to find a good laptop, a good chair, a good cup of coffee, and all you have to do is turn your computer on and watch a video or do whatever you want to do. At home, this is what our families do. At work, this is what we do. On a trip, this is what we do.
A lot of businesses rely on what we call “self-service”. This means that the customer gets the product or service instead of us. We’re talking about having a computer, a chair, a printer, or whatever you want to do at home. These things are not just sitting in a glass case. You’ve got to have them.
You can always take home your own computer, but I like to bring my own chair and a printer. I want a chair and a printer for when I need them. I also want to have something that I can get other people to do, like a computer. I don’t want to have to go home and say, “Hey, I’m going to make a video for you, and I want you to give me a coffee and a chair and a printer.
I like to take home a chair and a printer when I get home from work. That’s because I am really, really, really tired.
I believe there are many ways to get a chair and printer. But in the end, I would argue that having a chair and printer is the most dependable. I have both a chair and a printer and I feel much more confident and comfortable using them.
