I’m excited to bring three wonderful ladies to the 2017 Counseling Conference.

A lot of the conference content will be more practical than philosophical.

For example, I was looking to get a sense of how to go about my own counseling practice. I wanted to know what kind of counselor would be best at my office and what would be the best thing for me to do in office. I also wanted to know if I should be a counsellor or a psychotherapist.

I will be heading to the 2017 Counseling Conference to take part in a panel discussion titled “Counselling for the Digital Age” which will be part of our two-day conference. This panel discussion will be entitled “Crisis Counseling in the Digital Age” and we’ll be moderating it by Dr. Jessica Segal. Dr. Segal has a lot of experience and knowledge in the field of crisis counseling.

I’ve been doing counseling for many years and was once a volunteer counsellor in a psychiatric facility. I have a degree in Humanistic/Counselling with a masters in Clinical Psychology and I’ve been working at the Mental Health Center in the Community in Bellevue for the last two years.

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of working with three different programs on the Crisis Counseling in the Digital Age panel. The panel was hosted by Dr. Segal who is a psychologist, professor and the director of the Crisis Counseling In the Digital Age program at the University of Washington.

I took some notes from the panel and will write up the rest of what i can remember.

Ive been practicing psychology for 13 years now and have been very lucky to have met a lot of great people. Ive also had the pleasure of meeting and working with some incredible people. What I can remember from the panel is that the digital age has allowed us to have more freedom and less stigma about seeking help. The digital age has made it possible to have more and better technology in place to help us as well as people to help us.

So, do you know what I mean? I’m not talking about technology as a whole. I’m talking about technology that allows us to seek and get help. People that have been helped the most are the ones that have had the most help and have been helped the most. Because they’ve been helped the most, they tend to give the most and the most help.

As I’m sure you are aware, there are a wide range of different types of counseling services, such as couples counseling, individual counseling, family counseling, and crisis counseling. The question is, in what order do these services best help those who need them? A person may need to meet with a couple who is looking for a new relationship. Another person may need to meet with a family, or an individual, to address a crisis or emotional or behavioral issue.
