I am sure you’ve been bombarded with these kind of questions, but we have to keep it real for a second. No one cares about your opinions and those of your friends. No one cares that you like to fight games and you don’t know what exactly it is that you’ve been doing that is making you the way you are.
I hate to break it to you, but there is no such thing as a “best” controller for fighting games. The controller you are currently using is just fine. There are some amazing fighting games out there and there just arent any of them. Some people claim that there are, but there are not one single person who has actually tried them.

Although these controls are useful, I feel that fighting games often require too much movement to be effective. If you want a fighting game to be effective, then you need to allow players to move pretty darn fast, and I don’t mean like running. I mean like jumping, shooting, and dodging. It’s hard to feel like you’re killing each other if you’re trying to stay on the same path.
It’s easy to say that you can’t afford the same level of movement in a fighting game as you could in a racing game. But that’s because fighting games require more precision than they do in a racing game. It’s why I feel like this is the best controller for fighting games though. It allows you to jump, dodge, and shoot like you would in a game that doesn’t require so much movement.
I know you might be thinking to yourself, “well thats because I play RPGs and I can’t play FPS, so why should I switch?” Well because when you want to play a fighting game you have to do it the right way. You cant just jump around and shoot your way through the game the same way you could have in a racing game.
You can play fighting games with your controller in any number of different ways. I personally like the gamepad because its a little more ergonomic. It allows you to use your controllers like a controller. However, if you prefer to use a gamepad then I would recommend the gamepad, but for any other controller that suits your needs then you can use the controller.
